Dear you,
I'm sorry you had to go through all that hurt. Love is well.... sucky. Heh. okay maybe not all the time. But its complicated and sometimes you get sunny days and sometimes it doesn't just rain, it pours!

But as you get your life sorted out and as you move on... i just want you to know that i'm here. I know you know i'm here. Free hugs whenever you need it. A prayer partner any time of day. Your chill-out buddy. Part time housemate. Friend forever.

I love you man. For real. :)

there's even a book on it

The Hug Therapy Book - Kathleen Keating, R.A., M.N.

The Bear Hug--ideal for two individuals of disproportionate sizes and for saying, "You're terrific," or "You can count on me".

The A-Frame--Brief embrace ideal for little-known relatives and situations requiring a bit of formality. All of the hugging takes place above the neck. This hug communicates polite caring or detached warmth. Great for new huggers.

The Cheek Hug--A tender hug that can be executed sitting or standing. This hug says "I'm sorry you're disappointed," or is ideal to share joy or greet an elderly relative.

The Group Hug--Great for good friends sharing an activity or project. Group hugs communicate support, security, affection, unity and universal belonging.

because the doctor said so

A DOCTOR'S PRESCRIPTION FOR HUGGING:

by Mark Katz, M.D., Member of L.A. Shanti's Advisory Board

"How important are hugging and physical and emotional contact for people affected by life - threatening illnesses? In my work, I have found that people who receive nurturing maintain a better outlook on their situation -- and historically, positive attitude is an important factor in long-term survival. Hugging and physical contact make a difference in a person's frame of mind, and may help their medical condition. Best of all, hugging has no side effects and does not require a trip to the doctor.

I recommend at least one hug a day."

fakey 360

Tt kinda sucks when you don't really get that warm cuddly hug from the person you most want to squeeze the breath out of.
People tend to give these fake plasticky hugs made to look sincere with air kisses.
Like ooo my chest touched yours now *muah muah!*

heh.

But i sooo wish i could give you that reassuring hug just to let u know i'll always be here. And i wish that hug could take away all your fears and just blow your troubles away.

Maybe someday .....

the one about the weddings

I received 2 wedding cards a few weeks ago.
November weddings. One With autumn themes and orange hues with little cartoon doodles. The other with disfigured hearts dangling from a string.

The designer in me scrutinized the layout and the medium and discussed with the other designers what printing method was used and which paper grades and type would be best for our own wedding cards. Well, not like i'm getting married anytime in the near future ... but it's just something to think about.

But i think, i'll just do away with wedding cards and i suppose i dun need the added stress of planning the whole wedding and trying to figure if i want Lillies of Daisies.
Or if i should have a tube dress or a halter neck one?
Do I wanna arrive in a Beetle or on a Vespa?
Hrmm. Leather or lace?
*whoa!* lets not get carried away.

I'll just elope and come back one fine day saying "Mom, Dad.... meet my husband!" *big big grin*

Cause after all, it ain't about the deco and flowers or the dress. Its a union of two souls, brought together for the greater good of mankind, which is to multiply and spread the love and fill the world with more hugs and kisses.

GWAD, that ending was so darn lame.
But owh well! Here's to the happy couples! CHEERS!

The Rescuing Hug

This is from an article called "The Rescuing Hug." It's about the first week of life of a set of twins. Apparently, each were in their respective incubators, and one was not expected to live. A hospital nurse placed the babies in one incubator. When they were placed together the healthier of the two threw an arm over her sister in an endearing embrace. The smaller baby's heart rate stabilized and her temperature rose to normal.

Full story here.

Free Hugs Campaign

I love the song in this video by Sick Puppies!
A hug is all you need to feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Or well.... if you piss in your pants, it'll be warm and fuzzy too...
hrmm.... well whatever.
